The time has arrived to ask for your preliminary attendance commitment for Thunder at Stillwater II. Your participation is the power that turns the wheels. Thunder II promises to be a unique event with an All-Star cast of players who starred in the original. The event is loaded with track time for participants and spectators, as well as perhaps the most informative & entertaining jam session from the players responsible for the development of the LT5 and its ensuing capture of the speed & endurance record.

The ZR-1 Net Registry is committing funds to help facilitate organization of the event, but the Registry cannot back the event unless adequate attendance is sufficient to meet costs. As such, we are asking for your cooperation, by indicating your planned participation in the following;

The track will be reserved for our exclusive use for a minimum of 8 hours. Check it out at www.hallettracing.net . Hallett has over 80 feet of elevation change and is considered technically difficult. It has wide, grassy run-off areas and zero concrete or Armco barriers. If you have never driven your Corvette for it=s designed purpose, this is the perfect time. Glen Breitung, a fellow ZR-1 driver and former instructor has offered his expertise with ride-along instruction for anyone.

This is the best bargain around for road course track time! All day for $100.00!! Spectators get in free.

I used to race here when the facility was first built back in the mid-sixties. Saturday is the Atest-n- tune@ day for the All Star Chevy Show weekend. We definitely qualify! Just show up and just pay your entry fees & run as many times as you can.

MercCruiser was kind enough to allow us the use of their parking lot to set up the autocross course. Thunder II happens to fall on the same weekend as the SCCA autocross nationals, so the local SCCA chapter will be a little short on help. They will need our assistance to set the cones back up in the unlikely event anyone actually knocks one down.

We are doing it a little different this time to avoid leftovers & associated costs. You can pre-order items at the time of registration & pick them up when you check-in. Pictures of hats & tee shirts will be posted when available. We are working on a new item for Thunder II, a nice, pull over sweatshirt with zipper neck, collar & pockets. Plans are to have a few on hand for show & tell at the event and will be taking orders if you want one. They will be shipped afterwards, just in time for cool weather.

In addition to banners made for the event, VIP autographed LT5 pieces will be auctioned off at the jam session. Proceeds will go to offset costs of the event. Any excess event income will be used for future ZR-1 Net Registry sponsored events.
