This is a
link to a spread sheet that Dan Disch put together tracking
prices of
ZR-1's sold on Ebay over an extended (3+
years) period of time.
| From the May/June 1999 issue of
"Grassroots
Motorsports" magazine under the story "Future Classics"
by David S. Wallens: "If any Corvette
model is destined for future greatness, it has to be the
1990-'95 "King of the Hill" ZR-1 model." |
From the May 2001 issue of Vette Magazine. Top Ten
Investment for Corvettes for 2001.
The '90 - '95 ZR-1's. Limited
production, and $70,000 price tags, kept them pretty
exclusive. The "King of the Hill" Corvette will still
inspire-take a couple of aspirin before using.

NOTES:
FAIR condition are cars assumed to
be fully functional, safe, and able to be tagged and driven.
GOOD condition cars should not
have any visible flaws, either cosmetic or mechanical.
EXCELLENT condition cars should be
very well kept originals, or professionally restored.
Also when dealing C4s, the difference between "Fair" and
"Excellent" will be far more subtle than with most older
cars. A good rule of thumb for late-model cars: "Excellent"
cars will be garage kept and seldom driven; "Good" cars will
be driven 5,000-10,000 miles per year; and "Fair" cars will
likely be kept outside, driven hard, and not properly
maintained.
Prices of course can vary by location and season. |

| With the demise of the ZR-1 in 1995, the cars have
taken on a greater significance. (and just
about everyone else) considers the ZR-1 an undervalued
collectable: "At its price level right now I
think it is safe investment. For $30,000 you can get a
pretty nice 1990 example. A '94 is in the $45,000
range and I think that is good." The ZR-1 was
the best Corvette since the 427, and a minor miracle when
you place its enormous power in the context of
this era that is so plagued by political correctness.
For investment, the choice between buying an early
'90s model and the far more expensive and
lower production '94/95s doesn't seem difficult when you
consider that they're all the same car. The
1990-91 cars are the better value.

| Below is a projected chart of ZR-1 values that
Mike Kitain took an educated guess on. Many factors play a
role in future values of these cars especially the economy.
Also these values are based on low mileage (less than
10,000) pure stock like new ZR-1s. |
