Mountain Run 8
Sunday, May 10 to Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Make your plans now for Mountain Run 8 – three days of driving your Corvette on the mountain  roads of northeast Georgia, western North Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The first day’s run will be Sunday, May 10, 2020. At the conclusion of MR8 all participants are encouraged to caravan to Bowling Green, KY for the annual C4 Gathering, arriving Wednesday in time for pizza & beer at the University Plaza Holiday Inn.

Headquarters for MR8 will be in Dillsboro, North Carolina at the Best Western Plus River Escape Inn & Suites. We have a group rate beginning on Sunday, May 10 with checkout on Wednesday, May 13. Accommodations for Saturday arrivals are not yet confirmed but that info will be provided as soon as it becomes available. Tentatively planned is a Saturday evening gathering for burgers & brew in Sky Valley, Georgia.  FYI – Dillsboro has excellent access to the best mountain roads of the
region. The BW+ River Escape Hotel will not disappoint. Dillsboro has several excellent restaurants that should please most everyone’s palate. In addition to most of the “oldies but goodies” roads that we enjoy seeing each year we plan to add a couple more “interesting” routes.
IMPORTANT - Two things you need to do if you plan to participate in MR8 –

• Make your room reservation at the Dillsboro Best Western ASAP (read hotel info below)
• Contact me via email that you will be attending and your arrival/departure date (I’ll get additional info from you later).
To reiterate … please don’t wait until the last minute to decide to attend, make room reservations, etc. We want everyone to fully experience the fun of MR8. No one will be turned away … BUT – rooms may not be available as we approach May, 2020.
Reservations can be made by calling the hotel di-rectly at 828-586-6060 and specifying Mountain Run 8 Corvette room block to the front desk agent who answers. It is important that you choose option “0” for the front desk if you should get the greeting mes-sage. Do NOT attempt to call Best Western’s national reservation center – they will not be able to help you.
Questions? Shoot me an email. Wanna talk? Email me your phone number and a good time to call.
I have a wish guaranteed to put a perma-grin on any Vette owner’s face … and that’s to see 50 Corvettes convoying together on the Great Smoky Mountain Expressway. Plan to join us for Mountain Run 8. POC: George Jones, gunny@zrwon.com
